Hi, I'm Andrea Kay, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Connecticut. I provide counseling for adults seeking support, healing, and growth through an approach that honors both emotional well-being and the richness of the Catholic faith.
I know that reaching out for counseling can feel intimidating. Whether you are navigating a difficult season, facing unexpected challenges, or simply feeling stuck, my goal is to provide a warm, compassionate space where you feel heard, understood, and supported.
As a practicing Catholic, I understand that faith is not simply one aspect of life—it influences how we view ourselves, our relationships, and our purpose. It is a privilege to walk alongside my clients as they pursue healing, greater self-understanding, and a deeper sense of peace and hope.

My Approach
I believe that meaningful change happens when people feel safe enough to be honest about their struggles and supported enough to move toward growth.
My counseling style is compassionate, collaborative, and practical. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, I work with clients to better understand the underlying patterns, experiences, and beliefs that may be contributing to their difficulties.
I draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, behavioral techniques, and strengths-based interventions. Together, we will identify your goals, build on your existing strengths, and develop tools that can help you navigate life's challenges with greater confidence and resilience.
Every person is unique, and counseling should reflect that. My goal is to meet you where you are and tailor the counseling process to your individual needs and circumstances.
"Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire."

Why Catholic Counseling?
Our faith shapes how we understand ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us. It influences how we approach suffering, healing, forgiveness, purpose, and hope.
Catholic counseling recognizes the unity of mind, body, and soul. Rather than separating emotional well-being from spiritual well-being, this approach acknowledges that both are important aspects of the human person.
As a Catholic counselor, I strive to integrate evidence-based therapeutic practices with an authentic understanding of Catholic teaching and anthropology. This means clients can openly discuss matters of faith, prayer, vocation, marriage, family life, and spiritual struggles without needing to explain or defend their beliefs.
Whether you are seeking support for a specific challenge or simply desire counseling that aligns with your faith and values, Catholic counseling offers a space where emotional healing and spiritual growth can be pursued together.
Education & Credentials
My professional background reflects a commitment to both clinical excellence and faith-based formation. I earned a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from The College of Saint Rose and am licensed as a Mental Health Counselor in New York and a Professional Counselor in Connecticut.
In addition to my clinical training, I hold a certification in Biblical Studies from the Augustine Institute, which has deepened my understanding of the Catholic faith and its application to daily life. I am also a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator, allowing me to support engaged and married couples as they strengthen their relationships and prepare for the future.
